Fred Chance was born in Cumbria in 1950. He lived in London for many years working in film industry publicity before training as a teacher and moving to Gloucestershire. Photography has been a consistent obsession and, since the turn of the century, has occupied him full time. Fred, who is married and has two grown children, lives in Stroud, Gloucestershire where he was co-director of the town's first festival of photography in October 2007 (www.stroudphotofestival.co.uk).
